I'd just like to say a big thankyou to everyone who contributes on here. I thought and felt like the only one in the world who had got into a financial mess and taken out an IVA. I only came across the site a couple of days ago and now log in every day just to keep up with the chat and news. It seems there are ways and means of getting round things (legally)! and today I applied for a Co-op debit card (Cashminder) which someone recommended on the site - thankyou. [:)]

Welcome Sue. Yes, this is a great place to visit and chat to people in the same boat. We have all been there and have the (hair) tee-shirts.

You will find the Co-Op account very good, does everythimng you need and the phones are always answered when you have a query.

Hi Sue
Welcome from me too. You are very definitely not alone, and the brilliant thing here is there is always someone to hold your hand. Any questions or even a rant, do post won't you?

Hi Sue, I have to agree this is a great place and I too look in most days.
The Cashminder account is really good I use the online banking a lot and it does everything I need, although it was a bit slow to update transactions but that seems to be improving lately.

Agree with you djw - it seems to be the Tesco transactions that still take 3 days. Had a discussion at Tescos last week when I took something back - their tills won't allow credits onto the cards so they have to give you cash. Think it's something to do with the cards being old electron numbers.
Word of warning - if paying in cheques at the PO it takes 6 days to get into your account. Luckily we don't get many but as the branch is 40 miles away we do need to use this facility on occaision

Although my visa debit card has an old electron number, so far, touch wood, I haven't had a problem. I am reliably informed that I will come unstuck if I try it in a pre pay petrol pump and haven't worked up the courage to try.

I have noticed many transactions show up faster these days.

Hi Sue - I'm glad the forum has helped you. It's a great community as there are posters at different stages of the debt process, so the experience and advice is vast and great.

The social side is an added bonus [:)]

I had an argument with Tesco about refunds to the Cashminder card - they told me they couldn't refund to the card and they couldn't give me cash! I stood my ground and eventually they worked out they could do the card refund - funny that, but about right for my local Tesco!

My local Tesco can't even ring up the goods correctly - I dread to think what a refund would do to them !!!!

It's bizarre that it would let me buy goods then not take them back! I don't mind though - I skipped out of there with cash in my hands!!

Thankfully I've had no problems with my local Tesco!
