Well done you for getting started, once I break up from work on Friday I'll start preparing a list, my list gets smaller every year though so not too many to buy for. Got daughters 18th in October too!

Always pick up bits through out the year as I find if you don't the bits aren't there when you decide to start shopping.

It's my youngest sons birthday in 2 months, I noticed a couple of Meccano style sets in a shop in town, have now purchased 3 of them for a total of £8. Not a kings ransom, but they are a toy he will love (he enjoys building things) and they are paid for in full - and that's a nice feeling.

Of course Ebay is also a brilliant place to get pressies cheaper than normal!

Defo, we saved loads last christmas scouring the iternet for wanted presents and deals on them. I hate to let my boys down as its not their fault that we're in this mess.

I must admit I now feel cheated if I have to pay full price for anything! I can't let it beat me by paying the full price - its a challenge lol!

I scour the web for discount codes or lower prices - the other day I bought a gift and managed to save £4 and it felt like total victory ha ha!

How this IVA has taught me well [:D]

Blimey well early! But good planning I agree.

Thankfully about 5 years ago I stopped buying for people as my family is large I was spending £2000 each Xmas on just basic gifts.

In return they do not buy me anything and we all focus on our kids and partners. This Xmas it will just be presents for my missus and even then we have agreed a small budget not to go over.

The adult children have some of the vouchers I get from the surveys - so that costs me nothing. The grandchildren don't have much bought for them, my parents don't need a lot so it's normally an item of clothing for them.

Hubby and I exchange a token bottle as there is nothing else we need or want.

I do buy my dogs a pressie each though!!
