on monday, I put a coat on ebay to sell - it was my stepsons.

Anyway bidding has just ended and it went for £26.60 [:0][:0][:0] This is actually what my face is like right now!

But I am also so happy. [:D][:D]

it was a Helly hansen coat.

My stepson has graduated to Superdry coats now - even more expensive. Glad its his mother doing the buying. x

When you have a good sell, i think it spurs you on to get rid of more things. We have loads of stuff lying around the house that is just not being used.

I say this everytime ebay posts are on, I must sell some stuff and again I'm thinking it, I finish work 17th December through till Jan 5th and I must do some selling!

That's brilliant flow! My OMG moment was with a Timberland sweatshirt which I bought from a catalogue for £20. I'd already sold one for the same price and then somebody went stupid with the bidding and this one went for £75!

Oh I wish I had time Jan but I'm going to Coventry....lol, snow scene ok here as roads are clear and my friends brother lives near to Coventry and has said it's not too bad there, we take another look before we travel tomorrow but it's looking favourable.

I'll have to keep a look out over the Christmas period for free listing weekends. x

Mine was when I sold a DVD box set that I'd bought for £30 for £110!

I was once given an old old old hand mixer (probably one of first ever) to sell. It had attachements and all sorts. It ended up selling for £52 to AMERICA which obviously cost loads on postage....right up to the point I got email saying thanks i was convinced they'd realise they'd made a mistake.

I often wondered if it was for something like a prop in a movie or something, seems a lot to pay for an old blender.

The most surprising profit I ever made on Ebay is when - just for the crack, I listed my used copy (with the crossword inside completed !!) of the 4th November 2004 edition of the Daily Mirror and watched as one week later bidding had reached around £54 - the winning bidder in New York was delighted with his purchase - it was popular because of it's front page headline, "Doh, 4 more years of Dubya - How can 59 million be so dumb" - of course, it was the amount of people who had voted for the re-election of George Bush ! I noticed other sellers on Ebay getting 70-80 pounds per copy for this edition at the time - not bad for a 35p outlay !!

I am setting up an IVA and I've got the frugal bug.

I had a HTC hero android phone (iPhone rival) and I didn't really like it so I put it on ebay and got over £100!

I used the money to buy a brand new basic nokia and BT digital cordless house phones from eBay Argos and I had £40 left over.

My contract is nearly up so I'll upgrade and get the most expensive (desirable to eBayers) and sell ot straight away and make a nice tidy profit, probably get my car serviced.

It feel's great to not really lose out on stuff but make a tidy profit.

I've just sold some old toys on eBay in the run up to Christmas and have found a load of nice clothes that have been sitting in my wardrobe for 6 months washed and ironed. If you only get £4-£5 each it soon mounts up when you sell a big batch on a roll.

The more stuff you have listed the more successful your sales as people often look at your other stuff to save on postage.

Another good tip for getting rid of rubbish music CDs and DVDs is musicmagpie. They only give you 30p to £3 for each item but they pay the postage and they take stuff that you'd never sell on ebay. My wife just got a cheque for £30 for music in a box in the attic. It will make her works do go with an extra swing.

Be careful about selling mobiles unless you have a spare - I sold my last one, the old one I was using packed up and I ended up having to buy a replacement! To be honest, I like having a top of the range phone too much to do it again!

Another thing we've done is downgrade the extortionate SKY package and buy some DVD box sets like life on Mars, Ashes to Ashes and Lie to me. We watch then 2-3 episodes at a time and resell them.

It works out cheaper than renting from Blockbusters and sometimes we actually make a profit.

Ebay are doing a "no Insertion fee" weekend today and tomorrow. Every little helps.
