I am a mad collector of points schemes. Whether it be Marriott, Holiday Inn, Airlines and Tesco.

I was saving my Tesco points for a Virgin holiday. I worked out that spending all shopping and petrol over 3 years would have got my wife and I a nice little holiday. Result!!

However, they have now reduced the x4 bonus to x3. Also maximum spend on virgin holiday is £525 via points. The rest has to be added in cash. Given you need to pay the brochure price this is not a good use of points.

Anyone have any ideas on best value redemptions.

I collect points for boots, tesco, nectar and morrisons fuel. Most of them just add up and up and I never really know what I've got. i think most points collecting is a bit of a waste cos you need to spend loads to get anywhere.

Though I did actually get a £5 voucher for morrisons the other day.

I get quite a few points for Tesco, even though it's not my main shop. I save them all up until Christmas. I also have the ones earned from surveys.

I use my Tesco vouchers to buy magazine subscriptions for christmas pressies. Hubby has Gardeners World and son has X Box 360. My daughter uses the vouchers for nights out and she has taken inlaws to Smith and Western for a feed tonight.

Never heard of them. No good us going for a meal as I can only manage a starter.

I only use my Clubcard and Nectar points on shopping. We're getting quite a lot of Nectar points now that Homebase do them as Dave gets a lot of his stuff for work there, and the petrol station next door to work is now a BP. Dearer petrol but more convenient than a special trip to Tesco!

We're getting our petrol at Sainsburys at the moment. Mum and Dad do their shopping there and give us the 5p off a litre of fuel at the moment. Otherwise I do shop round for the cheapest. I have a couple of emails a week from the petrol prices website.

I must admit I usually go between asda or morrisons as they seem to try and keep it low, plus morrisons do the points.

jan what websites do you use?

If I'm not going to Tesco for shopping I have to go out of my way to go to another petrol station so I figure I'll probably use more than I save getting there! The petrol light is usually on as well, so it's needs must! I also find I'm getting more miles out of a tank of BP petrol.
