Just thoughty I would share the happiness of a really good day out that we as a family have had today........a nice sunny day at the beech, we have made sandcastles, went for a paddle and buried my hubby in the sand.

The kids loved it, one of them even crying when we headed home and all it cost was approx £5 for petrol there and £2.70 on 4 x ice cream!!!!

FAB DAY [8D] Bring on a long hot summer so we can have more cheap days out x

Sounds excellent and glad you had a good day.

Not good for me though, cost me too much in petrol!

Aww sounds like a lovely day [8D]

Our local country park has a kite festival tomorrow, free entry and its a 10 minute walk, so probably take granddaughter there...with a picnic as to buy food is expensive.

Even though I am petrified of kites [:0]...

I do have a local beauty spot a few miles away, but I worry about the dogs and snakes this time of year. There have been several dogs bitten.

Why scared of kites Julie?

Oh I don't know why Jan..I have a list of things that "spook me out", but I have made a promise to myself that I will face as many as possible. I got over my phobia of cats so anything is possible.

I hate wasps, moths, daddy longlegs and spiders. That's about it I think. I'll never get over those.

I work with someone who has a phobia about buttons - she won't even say the word!

I had the day at the beach yesterday it was fabulous and only cost us the diesel price.

We also have a kite festival (not tomorrow) at Ferry Meadows and I like to go there too. x

I love days at the beach & I we are very lucky its only a 10min walk away.
Though the washing n bathing after gets tiring when you do it all the time.
Thats very good value for 4 4 ice creams! Its about 1.50 a ice cream here!
We are also lucky to be a 30 min drive to forestry n country side, but dont often get to do that with petrol prices these days!

My eldest son is terrified of people dressed up in costumes, n that includes Santa! N disneyland would be a no go for us, not that we could afford it! Dont know why but hes been like that as far as I can remember.

With some vouchers I've had today I've been to Primarni shopping and got my dress for the FF BBQ in July at Jan's house. Peacocks is where the dress come from and I'm really pleased with it! x

We just live 5 mins walk from the beach, hubby took DD to it yesterday (moi at work) sent me some pics via his phone. You'd think they were abroad....LOL.

Just got some more vouchers thru today to go to another theme park via Tesco clubcard vouchers.

We're just over an hour away from the beach and the lucky think is my MIL has a static van so we do sometimes go there, although I often get bored if I'm staying there x

Other than the local beauty spot where I am worried about snakes with the dogs, there is nowhere that doesn't charge.

Our Tesco vouchers are saved for Christmas.

We have quite a few beaches right on our doorstep, we go walking on one or the other most days and granddaughter has told me she's fed up of the beach[:D]

We also have a nature reserve and sand dunes a few minutes away and the country park has loads of events throughout the year.

We are very lucky [:)]

The forestry charge for you to enter it (8.50)& its fantastic day out, well you could spend a good few days exploring to be honest.
But getting there n trying to hunt out all the good bits for the kids takes hours just in the car!
So glad the beach is free!

Oooooh Lesley, u sound just in the perfect spot! We are lucky too, Living in Yorkshire n on the coast, I have always loved it.
The best place to clear my mind n wash away worries is sitting n listening to the waves crashing in the bay.
