Just wanted to share with you folks ... you know my F&F was recently accepted and I have posted a few times to the effect that I hadn't realised just how unconsciously my debt situation had been holding me back in life ... it is still like the reality of being debt free is only just beginning to lift and uncloud my outlook ... well this week I registered for a course with the OU (I get a fee waiver as staff development!) which will be the first module in a MSc in Psychological Research Methods ... I already have a Masters in Education but I see this as a bit of a moving on ... gaining more skills ... for the FUTURE ... which at one time I really didn't think I had.
So if any of you out there are thinking about, or embarking on an IVA ... do it!! [:)]

Well done Debbie. I hope the course goes well for you. You have been an inspiration for people on here, and hopefully will inspire a few more people!

Its great encouragment for anyone in an IVA/TD to hear stories of people getting on with life on the other side of such arrangements.
Well done!!

well done debbie!
you are a lovely person who always inspires and lifts peoples spirits on here, am so glad you are now able to follow your dream!
let me share my dream with you, this keeps me going now when i am feeling low, when my iva finishes in 6 years i want to be able to sell our house, get the bit of equity out of it and move to the country, even if we rent somewhere, get small non pressurised jobs and have a stress free life coming up to our old age. both girls will have probably flown the nest by then! this dream keps me going!

What a lovely dream barb. I will be coming up to retirement when mine is finished. I have a final salary pension and plan on spending some of the lump sum money on a very exotic holiday (credit card free of course!). That's keeping me going!

that will be lovely, most of my holidays over the past years went onto the credit card! so to go somewhere of your dreams and know it is paid for would be lovely!
a few months ago i didnt have any dreams, just mountains of debt that i thought i would take to the grave with me! i feel so grateful and humbled that we as a family have been given a second chance!

I have never really been a person for 'dreams', just achievable goals ... but, of late, I tend to engage in them a little more often ... old age perhaps? [:)]
It would be lovely to hear of other people's dreams ... I suppose one of my dreams would be to be have a 'natural therapies'/teaching/healing centre on a Greek island ... but now I have 'fallen' into the work I do I can't really seeing me achieving it as I feel my 'vocation' is continuing to minister to the people of Portsmouth and the surrounding area in their time of their grief.

What a fantasticly positive post, Debbie. You are a real inspiration to the number of posters who are in IVAs, where the light at the end of the tunnel may only be a pinprick at the moment, and it goes to show that with real conviction from the outset you can do anything.

Hey Debbie, as everyone has said, you have been such an inspiration and reading your post has definately inspired me to try something different. I think I achieved my dream with my business but now I'm moving on I really need another goal. You seem to love everything that you do, that's fantastic. One of my favourite places in the world is a little town called Lindos on Rhodes.....it would be perfect for you. [8D] Good luck. Viki X
