Just thought I'd tell you how proud my daughter sometimes makes me feel? She is swimming a mile for a local hospice with the school. All I thought was thats a hell of long way to swim!!!

Fantastic, children are our greatest joy and you must be walking a couple of inches taller today. Would you mind me asking how old she is?

I am certainly prepared to sponsor such a worthy cause. Having lost both my parents, and having had both of them cared for in their final days and hours by hospices, I cannot speak highly enough of the good work they do so if you ask Andy for my contact details I will certainly be happy to help.
Regards.

Well done to her and her school, what a great way to raise money for the local hospice and keep the children fit too! I've signed up for the Race for Life, not started training yet but my daughter who is 14 and I will complete it, whether I walk, run, hop or skip, I'll make it somehow! lol

Now Isthereanend, you do know that you should be training!!! (in my bestest telling off voice) I am not doing this on my own and you will be coming with me! Get going on that exercise machine! (says she who has done nothing yet either!

)
Well done to angela18's daugther, having swam a mile before, I can certainly agree it is a very very long way!!

Our kid's school is having a 1Km sponsored walk around their track on Monday afternoon for both kids and parents, at least £1 donation each, proceeds going to Sport Relief. Great idea providing the rain keeps off, I'm in training over the weekend!!!! lol

I think sponsored things are great.. it teaches kids about charity and the needs of other people.
