We are in the process of sending in all info to Melanies team. Woke up this morning in a state of panic as to what to do if IVA is rejected... I work for HMRC so bankruptcy is not an option. I feel sick and worried sick!! Did everybody else go through this rollercoaster of feelings..
Plus, my 13 yr old dropped into the conversation that all her friends were off skiing with the school next year, I asked if she hadn't fancied it. She said "Yeah but was over £500 so didn't bother asking" Oh how i've cried!!! Feel a complete failure and just can't get over the feeling that things could get alot worse!!! All the way through this I've tried to be the positive one, but don't think can do it anymore!!!

Stay strong angela we all had days like that. The waiting time is so full of "what ifs" . Think positively, look at all the good things that you have that a lot dont, easy to say but when you look so much is more important than money. You have in my opinion one of the best IP's, who is fair and would only put a proposal forward if she thought it had every chance of success. Some families cant afford to send children on school trips like this even though they dont have debt.
Pick yourself up and dust yourself off and tomorrow is another day. You will be fine.

Angela, the way you are feeling right now is normal. I had months of sleepless nights and feeling sick with worry.
Just try to keep yourself busy.
As Ang has said, you have chose one of the best to act for you and im sure she will do all she can to get a positive outcome.
I know its hard but things will get easier.

HI

I had a couple of days like this last week as it was one of my sons 20th birthday & my daughters 18th and could not afford what I really wanted to give them felt a bit like a massive a failure. But what I did get them they loved and was special.
I think the process of sorting out debt it a lot of ups & downs and everyone is the same. Angela I am with Melanies team and at about the same stage as you & I keep getting the feeling now of what if the creditors turn me down it is a horrible feeling but we just have to think is that we are in the best hands to help us get through.

Don't worry ladies! I am not in the business of having IVA's rejected, so get that information to me as soon as possible and remain positive in the meantime.

Of course an IVA brings some lifestyle changes, which can be hard to bear, but your daughter sound eminently sensible and as Ang says some parents can't afford these trips in any case. I really wish schools would come up with something that could suit all budgets, rather than the rich kids getting all the perks.

Hi Angela, I have just successfully entered into an IVA using Melanie as my IP. The whole team are very good and will put your best proposal forward, I have a fourteen year old daughter and so far my IVA hasn't affected her (only three weeks into it!). I can empathise with you that is must be heartbreaking but like my daughter, your daughter seems to have a very sensible outlook. You're not a failure in any sense of the words, none of us are as we are addressing our financial problems whatever they may be. I felt all those emotions you are experiencing but now feel positive that I am moving forward to make a better future for not only myself but my immediate family. This is a life changing journey we are all embarking on, some further down the line to others but we will all make it through sheer determination. All the best Angela and this forum is so full of good support and advice that I for one am so glad to be a part of it and you won't go far wrong with Melanie and her team either!

The guilt is by far the worst thing to live with.(Have a read at my blog and you will see how I accumulated my debts)I struggle daily with it and hope one day it will subside & releif will take over in some form.

Hi

You are definately not alone in feeling like this, my creditors meeting is next Thursday and the last few months have been been a mixture of what ifs and how did i end up in this situation.

Like you ive woke up thinking OMG what if the IVA dosent get accepted, its easy for people to say dont worry about it as theres nothing you can do apart from Trust your IP and hope for a positive outcome, but in practice you cant help but worry.

We have good days and bad days and postive days and not so positive days so just hang in there and hope for the best.

Im looking forward to the day I wake up not thinking about it and every other phone call not being from a creditor chasing payment.

Keep smiling try and stay postive and hope for an approved IVA
