If your partner has a property with equity, will this property be used to pay my IVA? We live together, are not married, and have no common financial accounts or debt. The property is hers, we do not live there, and she rents it out. The debt in the IVA is all my debt. If someone can give me some advice on this I would appreciate it. thanks.

Hi
Presumably she owned this property before you lived together?
Do you contribute in any way to any mortgage on the property if there is one??
What does your partner do with the income generated?

Thanks for getting back to me. She did own the property before we were together. I don't contribute to the mortgage, and the income from the property goes directly into paying the mortgage. It isn't used for my or her personal expenses.

I cannot see that you would be held to have any claim over that property, but it might be wise to take specialist legal advice to be sure.
