My husband is currently going through with an IVA- have the creditors meeting for 19th Feb.
We've recently had a letter come through requesting payment for a debt that has only just been chased. We've been together over 2 years and i knew all the creditors and amounts, but this one seems very out of the blue- i know my hubby has never hidden anything from me and its not a new debt. but it is obviously not included in our proposed iva arragement. what will happen if the iva gets accepted without vodafone included? we sent the letter to the IP but haven't heard anything.

Hi
If the amount is for a few hundred pounds it will have little effect on your IVA.As you have passed it onto your IP they should deal with this and will ask vodaphone to form part of your IVA.
I would phone your IP and make sure that they have received the letter

As andy said if the debt is a few hundred pounds then it is unlikely to change the dividend you IP should send vodafone a copy of your proposal as they have the same voting rights as everyone else and circulate a letter to all of you creditors just to advise of the additional debt.

If the debt is a significant amount then your IP would have to withdraw your proposal and re-draft with the revised dividend in there.

I would suggest that as your IP has not contacted since sending the letter then they have included it into your proposal but i would certainley give them a call to confirm reciept and inclusion of the debt.
