I'm sure someone on the forum (possibly Hara) has an account with them so it looks as though you can.

Could you give them a call and ask before you apply?

You can apply but be honest with them - if you are honest then they tend to support you more - apply in the branch as well face to face.
I have a Smile Bank Account (Co-Op) - this comes with cheque book and visa debit card, internet banking etc etc and a savings account attached to it - I applied on line after my IVA was approved and was accepted.
I also have an Halifax Easy Cash account - Visa Electron card - no problems with this - again I applied on line after IVA approved.

If you have no luck with Yorkshire i would suggest
Natwest - Step account (Solo)
Nationwide - Flexiaccount (Visa Electron i think)
Co-op - Cashminder (visa electron)

The Nationwide basic Flexaccount only comes with a cash card, not a Visa Electron.
I can recommend the Co-op Cashminder account.
