At 8am this morning I had a call from CD? Debt Collections UK who act on behalf of Egg. This was quite a shock and a bit frightening. I explained that we were applying for an IVA and that our proposal had gone back to Melanies team and that we were waiting to hear further. The woman on the phone said she would hold the account til Friday.
Melanie, if you are out there, do I need to be seriously worried about this? Do you know when our Creditors meeting will be so that I can tell them a date when she calls me on Friday? Our proposal was fine, just a couple of amendments. We are both really worried as next it will be a letter/call from Mercers on behalf of Barclaycard. /They wrote to us last week and said if we didnt pay up within 10 days the debt would passed onto to Mercers.
Any advice anyone please? Its been on my mind all day. Thankyou

Not worried at all. Egg are perfectly aware of our involvement in your case, and referring your account to debt collectors at this juncture is just a waste of everyone's time.
Please e-mail me directly for specific information about your case.

My creditors are being a being tetchy now too, understandably in my case to be fair as it's been four months as I needed to remortgage to interest only to allow me to meet the HSBC hurdle with disposable income. I'm sure if you email Melanies team they will advise by return as I'm with Melanie and never had to wait long for a reply either by telephone or e-mail. Mercers now have my debt for Barclaycard and although they are persistant and said a doorstep collector may call, I was reassured on here that the likelihood of it happening was remote and so far nothing! Hang in there like me you're nearly there!

Thank you both so much for your prompt replies. This forum is absolutely fantastic for help and information and I really appreciate it. I feel so much better already. Not sure if I have your email address Melanie without looking through the paperwork, if it is acceptable to post it on here would you mind very much doing so please? If not I understand and I will find it out.
Having read other peoples experiences of IP/IVA companies on this site how glad we are to have been foturnate to come across Melanie. Sorry if that sounds a bit ott, but I do feel that there are a lot of unhappy posters out there who wish they could turn back the clock!

Sorry I am not allowed to post my e-mail address on this site - but you can either get me via melaniegiles.com - or my personal e-mail address can be found on the Insolvency Service's website under "Find an IP!.
Thanks for your kind words - they do genuinely mean a lot to me, and we do try our best to provide a good service to both clients and creditors, as is the duty of an IP.

Thank you Melanie. I spoke to Hywel today and am reassured regarding our proposal. Just have to confirm the amendments by signature and return to your Office, then am told the Creditors Meeting will be arranged.
Your welcome to my comments. They are well deserved and we have found your Staff all to be helpful and informative. Will just be glad when this is all sorted and we can start to live within a budget and concentrate on the future.
