Is it possible to find out if a particular person/business has declared Bankrupt? We have paid a deposit to have a job done and the firm/chap has said he is now bankrupt. We would like to be sure he is speaking the truth and has not just taken us for mugs

you could try looking on the insolvency register to see if his name is there.
