After having a rubbish day yesterday with creditors ringing me left right and centre and getting some advice off here from Melanie (Thanks again Melanie) i am at last feeling a bit better . Ater having our ivas approved on the 7th i thought the stress of the past few months would have gone but some of the creditors are just plain nasty and dont seem to get the message . My problems is that alot of my original debts have been passed to so many external debt collection agencies resulting in everyone claiming they have the debt . One debt has 3 agencies claiming its theirs !!! bit of a headache ,but have phoned my ip this morning and hes going to sort it .Is there a light at the end ????

I'm glad you're feeling a bit better Rachel. It will get better - I know it's not much help to you at the moment but it takes a while for the results of the IVA to filter through, especially with the bigger companies. I'm sure your IP will soon be on the case and things will quieten down x

Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, today is the present - a gift to make the most of.

Hi rachel, it does as skippy says take a while to settle. Be content though knowing that your iva is in place. If they telephone tell them your iva is approved and they should not be calling and to check their information with the correct department. If thery are rude tell them you are terminating the call.. Hopefully it will quieten now though.

Hi Rachell,

I'm sorry to hear that you are being chased by your creditors. As Skippy says it does sometimes take a month or two for this information to filter through to the right department. Your IP should hopefully help them to speed this process up.

Hang in there - it will get better.

Kind regards,
Terry Balfour

Hi rachellxx39

I had a persistant creditor, only one though which I thought was quite lucky, in the early days after my iva. In the end I was so fed up I said check the insolvency register which they did while I was on the phone - they can then see your name [:I] in black and white and can't argue with that.
Bear in mind though it will take a week or two to appear on the register.
Failing that just don't answer..what can they do now

Good luk and it will all settle soon, as others have said, and your life will have much more stability, a positive outlook and clear future planned out

Thankyou for your support. I know i need not woory with the debt included in the iva but when 3 companies are pestering you for the same debt it becomes a nightmare and yes (EMMA T )checked my details and they are already on the insolvency register.
