This card was hailed 'Which' mag prepaidcard as a milestone in prepaidcard and the cheapest to run. It has since put up a note on its website to say they have to revaluate this card as of 1st Feb 08 it is charging 2% for all purchases although giving cashback on purchase.

Really, the card is not very unattractive to use now and the top up fee at PP is now 3% and not a flat £1 rate if you want the money to go in for immediate use.

Why the card issues had to do this is unclear given its clientle and will no doubt be come unpopular.I for one who have this card will not use it again after Feb.

I'm going to carry on using it as it's still one of the cheaper cards to use. I'm going to top it up by standing order as it only costs 25p, or I might use my local Post Office as that's quicker.

I've got two cards and they both took about a week to arrive - I applied for one online and the other one was the free one from John Tegg.

I had a Unique card and when I didn't use it the cheeky so and so's took the 58p balance as a 'dormancy fee'! The Unique card has now been discontinued so they wrote to me cancelling the card, and if I wanted a different card they said they would refund the application fee, so I went for another Bread card and I've now got one for petrol and one for food shopping. Hopefully this'll help me budget a bit better!
