If you are on benefits then the Court may waive the fee but there is also a deposit of £310 which the Court cannot waive.

If you are a British Gas customer, and wish the CAB to handle your bankruptcy application for you, I am advised that British Gas operate a charity called the British Gas trust which will pay the cost of your bankruptcy in the event of financial hardship.
It almost sounds too good to be true, and I have not had the change to independently verify this yet, but it might be worth a few enquiries. If you are not a British Gas customer, I am told that other utility suppliers around the country have similar options, so check out with your local CAB to see if this applies to you.

I've also heard this, but I don't know of anyone who has actually used this so I would be interested to hear from anyone who has.

The CAB are the very best people to help you with this, Gloria, but do ask them about the charity funding which may be available to help you with the Court fees.
