Bankruptcy for £100 to help poorest

You may need to cut & paste this rather then just clicking on it

http://www.theherald.co.uk/news/news/di ... oorest.php

The Scottish Government said it would allow so-called "Ninas" - people with no income and no assets - to declare themselves bankrupt for a fee of just £100.

The new "cheapie" bankruptcy will be available only to people who earn less than £220 a week, the equivalent of 40 hours on the minimum wage, and have less than £1000 in assets.

Remember folks - different rules in Scotland, different legal system, different type of government .

We've already got the same legislation, but it cannot yet be implemented. If you read your posting again, you will see that Scotland are not in a position to offer this yet, and we have now been in this situation down South for over 6 months!

Betcha wee Eck (the Alex Salmond ) gets it pushed into law before the UK parliament [}:)]

It will be interesting to see what happens to door step lending companies when this is finally introduced, seeing as a large marority of their clients tend to be in the catagory indicated as the qualification rules. Call me cynical but why has there been a delay
