Got talking to friends, didnt discuss problems.
But got told they have a IVA, but what got me annoyed was since they took it out, they have since gone out and got a loan.
I [:(!]
I would of thought personally if a iva accepted it would be a great feeling of release.
But to go and get more finance, was stupid, dont know how these things work but thought since being on here it was wrong thing to do.
They have just used there iva as a easy way out, in my eyes not fully aware of facts, some people will always bend the rules.

Hi
How can they fund the loan repayments ?
When their IP finds out they will almost certainly fail the IVA and they will be back to square one with even more debt

I agree totally didnt tell them though as dont really know them that well.
Its so annoying, but suppose you hear of people going bankrupt and still living the life of riley.
I thought to myself, surely when they get reviewed it will come up?? or do IVA people just take peoples word for it or can they check things up.
They tought it was rather amusing as when applying for loan, the lady said ahh whats this company Spectrum , and they just replied consolidated debts. Must still not show on there credit file.
Theres always someone Greedy and who likes to exploit things. I thought to myself, i was so annoyed

Its that kind of behaviour that makes other people suffer. People who genuinely want help because they are sinking. People who genuinely want to pay their creditors back as much as they can.
We see so many people struggling with their finances on this forum and fighting hard to put it all behind them. Then theres the other side of the coin, the people who think its funny to have debt written off to make way for new debt.
Grrrr

This is the second christmas I have had without having credit cards and loans to fund presents. I did not spend much money on gifts (didn't have many to buy in any case) and the little I did spend on gifts were carefully thought about, and each person I bought for had three gifts each!!! And it cost a total of £43 for them all!!!!
Who needs credit??? Never again say I!!!!!

Isn't that the great thing about this kind of situation, it really makes life more simple ... remember the days when all you got in your Christmas stocking was a Satsuma and a few nuts [:)]
Good luck for a de-complexed 2008 everyone!

Tis a lovelly feeling to have Christmas done and dusted, with happy kids and wider family and know it's all been paid for already....No bills in January, just the same old budget, from which I'll be saving the first £30.00 towards next Christmas...
As for taking out credit, more fool them, I certainly never intend to again.... oddly though, still occasionally receive the offer of a credit card or loan from two of my creditors!!!

Hi everyone
I do believe that spectrum are not an IVA company but rip off merchants and were on watchdog. Going out and getting another loan when in serious debt is not really admitting to the problem and not being committed to solving it. I wonder why the credit rating wasnt already trashed anyway??
Well I can honestly say this has been my best christmas, paid for, simple and lots of fun. The best thing was a second hand dance mat which kept us laughing all week. Brilliant.

Can't believe that they have broken the rules and aren't worried about it. It will come back to bite them in the end. Can't say I envy their position right now. I am amazed nothing came up on the credit report with regards to insolvency, maybe the paperwork hasn't yet reached the court. But given that it is against the law to loan anyone above £500 when they are insolvent when this does rear its ugly head theirs will role as this must be classed a fraud on their part. How very silly.
