to cut along story short
contingency savings gone
2 months overtime gone
tiny amount of savings gone
will my iva fail now that i cant make the overtime payment to the creditors?
ive still got 3 weeks to scrape the monthly installment together
invoice from plumber due any day

Hi fuzzy,
Sorry to hear about your heating woes.
I would contact you IP and tell them what has happened. I think they will be sympathetic and allow you time to get your overtime money together again.
They won't let it fail for that, we all have these things happen to us.

You need to speak to your IP and let them know what has happened. I'm sure they will be sympathetic, and if the overtime payment has to be made up I don't see why it can't be tagged onto the end of your IVA.

If you were my client I would allow the cost of the boiler to be borne out of the overtime money you have saved up - but would expect you to use your 50% share first. I am sure you will find your IP sympathetic given the circumstances - a new boiler must be treated as an absolute essential item given the time of year, and health and safety issues.

Looks to me you need a payment break to cover the cost of a new boiler. Speak to your IP and I am sure that he/she will be sympathetic to you.

Good luck in getting this sorted fuzzy[:)]
I suppose it is very unusual to get through a 5 year iva without some appliance or essential item from conking out and sure your IP will be sympathetic.
Let us know how you go

to cut a long story short my ip asked for invoice for work done
from that it was deemed it was fine for me to use overtime and contigency money to fund this i pointed out that i would be still out of pocket and they will consider that in the next 3 month review
phew !
a very fair outcome .

Glad you have managed to get it sorted fuzzy. At least your IP was sympathetic to your needs.
At least you know your boiler should be ok for the rest of your IVA!

Hi Fuzzy Dunlop,
I know exactly what you're going through!! I lived for three months (from January to March) without hot water, it was miserable to say the least [:(]
My company didn't want to know, but eventually listened and I got a months payment break. Unfortunately for me they had also missed my car payments off my I & E so I was continually really short of money. I've had to make the decision to go BR as it's just one thing after another!! (My home phone exploded and the dish washer has died!!)
I'm glad you are with a good company who realise a boiler is essential, may things go well for you from now on. May all yourappliances last as long as possible [:)]
Best wishes,
Chardonnay [8D]

i was probably fortunate in that i had overtime saved up dont know what would have happend if not (probably payment break or cap in hand to relatives)
it just shows what a knife edge being on an iva can be if disaster strikes i turn the car keys now with my fingers crossed[:0][:0]
