Hi All
I had 13 missed calls yesterday on my mobile from MBNA. I left my phone at home. A message was left to ask me to contact them.
I have been at work only and hour and a half and i have had 3 missed calls and now a text message from them - should i call them back? i am a little scared they will be rude and horrible again
Thanks
Zoe

Hi Zoe, I know it's not easy but it might be best if you call them back. Other posts have stated that MBNA are rejecting IVAs where people are not advising them of the situation and the first they know about it is when they receive the IVA proposal.
If they are rude to you, be polite but firm and tell them that you are terminating the call.
Good luck x
Onwards and upwards!!!

zoe i would just ring them back explain your situation again to them and tell them there is no change and if they continue to ring you will be persuing the matter under harrassment laws, ask to speak to the head honcho and tell them the same and that they should deal with your ip.

Make sure they note on their screen, each time you speak to them, so they should not ring you back that day at least. If they continue ring their customer services, note the times they ring, I had a similar problem (14 in one day and I answered them ) with the aa financial services and after ringing them back a few times everytime they called me they stopped.
Be strong dont let them get to you. Thoughts with you.

Zoe,
I have 5 accounts with MBNA and am proposing an IVA and as you can imagine it could be a nightmare.
I have had RMA Debt Collectors threatening to call, abusive phone calls and mountains of letters.
But I have faced up to them and phoned every day for the last 2 weeks to say where I am with my proposals etc. They always try to talk me into a DMP with them but I am very firm and say no as I have been advised an IVA is the best option.
If they keep going on about it I just say I have been very patient with them and they continue I will report them for harassment.
To be fair they are now much more reasonable on the phone although they still phone me about once a day.
My advice - tell them what you are doing and stick to your guns. Dn't discuss details over the phone as they try to wear you down. Refer them to your IP and if they won't listen report them for harassment.

Hi Zoe
Who are you calling? Is it RMA or MBNA? I deal directly with their arrears dept in Chester 01244 672124. That way you cut out all the hard sell from their collections dept. They seem to have the ability to halt the calls too. They know its me calling them as they recognise my mobile number but I get 1 txt a week asking me to call.
Ironically I called them today to ask about a settlement and the person I needed to speak to was in a meeting. They scheduled a call for me at 6.30 this evening and its now nearly 8pm and nothing. Would you CREDIT it. Lol.
Regards
Dave

Thanks bear
I have just read all your post there. I cant help thinking that MBNA know how to get thier own share sorted dont they? They are not nice crocs though, so good riddence eh? So as I understand it, you would give them more in IVA than settling with them now and this is not pref treatment? It makes sense but why would MBNA want this, the lump sum earlier or reduced phone bill or both? If a lump sum is attractive it really helps my case, I wonder if all creditors think like this?
Thanks again bear.
