and a thanks to iva squirrel.... iva expert.... dominic...for listening to me talking to me and making me feel good in myself yes like you all say, i will be debt free in five years, but one thing i promise their will be no credit cards at the end of it, if i cant afford it i dont get it, this is a road never to be walked down twice, i will keep looking at the forum and will if i can help others just like you guys helped me

i feel the same about ccs but it hink for things like car rental and business travel they have become the norm, it i is hard to find a car rental place that takes cash.

you say its hard to find rental cars that take cash, did you know that they cant refuse to take anything with the queens head on it, so march into the office and lay your money down, stand firm,

Dominic - did you know that you can get a pre paid 'credit card'?......it is like a pay as you go mobile..you load the cash onto it at a post office or Paypoint outlets..at least it gives you the flexibility of paying for things on a card.....expecially if you want to pay for something over the internet or phone.

you can get such a thing as a pre paid crdit card how does it work? do you add funds to it and then keep it topped up or something like that?

yes that is right...you go to the post office and they swipe your card and put cash onto it...same at a Paypoint outlet...you can top up on the internet if someone you know is willing to transfer money on their debit/credit card to you. the one i have cost £9 to order....card and pin number came within 10 days.....top up cash at post office is 70p for any load amount up to £500. you can have a max of £3,500 on the card. the top up fees are slightly higher if you use Paypoint or internet..it depends on the amount you are loading...obviously you can only spend what you have on there just like pay as go mobiles........the one i have just got is a maestro card and is excepted in most places. You can withdraw you cash on it (fee £1 if you change your mind!)There are no monthly fees..for more inf go to the following website: www.extremecred.com. I ordered mine just before i started the iva process. Not used it yet...waiting for my salary to go next week. No one told me about this...i sort of stumbled on it a few months ago whilst searching for credit card offers...and remembered.

No problems spenmotherhen. Just waiting for my salary to go into my bank next week...then the money i have allocated for shopping and petrol i think i am going to load on the card...not used it yet.....least it gives you some normality back in your life..the ability to use a card.
