Hello
Believe it or not I have just found this site today and i wish i found it earlier.
I am just coming up to my last 3 payments and would like a little advice myself.
After making my final payment is it 6 years latter that my credit reports are clear or is it 6 years from the start of my IVA.
Many thanks in advance.

Hi and welcome and well done for being at the end.
It is six years from the date of IVA acceptance that it will drop off.
You will need to check with all three credit agencies to make sure that none of your creditors have registered any defaults after the date of IVA acceptance. If so then you need to contact them once you have your completion letter and tell them to remove those defaults.

Well done on getting so far without our great help!!!
As Jan says its 6 years from the date your IVA started. Get copies of your files really whenever you want to see whats on there, you may find incorrect default dates etc,any issues just ask us and if we dont know,we will find out.

Just a bit of an update.
I contacted my Iva manager over the last couple of days to confirm when my last payment will be and was told that because i had asked for a Variation about three years ago the only way the creditors would agree was to extend it until December of this year.
Has any one else had a similar event happen to them ?
This is a was a suprise to me although the end is still very much in sight.

Oh that's a bit of a blow but you have the end in sight. Not sure about this but one of our other posters may be able to advise. x

This should not have come as a surprise as you should have been asked to agree to this variation at the time.
What was the variation ? Might I also ask who you are with ?

It started with Synergi and then changed to Cleardebt.

Its very late in the day to be getting told that you have to run until december. I assume the variation was to allow a reduction in your contributions?

My monthly payments were set to high in the first place and after 2 years struggle they asked for 50% of my extra earnings which were being used to make my monthly payments.
I therefor got a variation which reduced my payments by about 50% and also wrote off the extra earnings that would have been paid into the scheme.
