I picked up my baby girl this evening. The Endoscopy showed that
although there was a bit of abraision in her oesopegous and bruising in her stomach, there was no eveidence of stick, thank goodness. The vet, said that it was probably bits that had passed through and she is on antibiotics to make sure there is no infection. So, a very lucky escape.

She also had X-rays on her hips, and it was shown she has quite serious joint disease and hip dysplasia. I did laugh at the vet - I said to him after he had told me all the information about her hips
"Basically, you're saying I have a crappy collie?" he turned around
and said "No, there is NO such thing as a crappy collie! I have 2 BC's and that's why I've taken over your case.... I try to deal with all the collies, because I *get* them!"

Personally, I am delighted that this particular vet has taken over the case. Not only is he a Border Collie man, but the main reason I didn't remember the name of the joint disease that Cara has is because I was too busy thinking how cute & good looking her vet was! He was very, very nice....ahem...... ;o)

Thanks so much for all the prayers and good thoughts - you have no idea how much they helped.

RC.

Dog and Ferrets go to Valley Vets on Gabalfa Interchange. Are you looking for a cute vet for Jess, because I can *VERY* highly recommend Rob and not just for his vet skills! ;o) LOL!

I use the Cat Clinic in Llanishen for the mogs.

I shall be changing tomorrow! Aren't they the ones who featured in the Welsh RSPCA TV series?

Congrats!!!
We have a border collie and lets just say, he aint exactly clever, infact quite the oposite. His tongue is never in even when hes asleep and he has a fetish for monkey nuts......he steals them out of the parrot food sack.
Hes sweet looking but dumb as a brush. The good thing is.....we dont think he knows how to cry because in 6 years we have never heard him do it.
He has to be looked up if anybody elses kids are in the house because he tends to go for their faces.

Still........hes our dummy and we like him

That's great news RC. I know how worrying it is when your pets are not well. Our Staffy also has hip displacia and a problem with her acrucia ligament-think I spelt it right...a wobbly eye and a broken tooth...oh and she suffers from itchy inflamed skin....has a very unpleasant flatulance issue and smelly breath.....apart from that she's a perfect pedigree!!! lol
We all still love her and wouldn't swap her for anything...

chris g - my staffie has the skin, breath and flatulence problem, she is on steroids for her skin... bless her she's 11 now and can't even be bothered to go for a walk. Take her out and as soon as she's had enough she turns around to head home! Whether you follow or not!![:I] wouldn't swap her for the world (also have a cat with 3 legs!!)
