I was wondering if you can help, i am currently being credit checked for a rental property. Having been in my IVA for just over a year.

I informed the landlord that i may have 'adverse' credit just to forwarn them. What are the chances that they will know im in an IVA using the credit agency 'Homelet' and what are the chances that it will affect my ability to rent (with my partner whom has great credit!)

Thank you

Hi Matt and welcome to the forum.

I'm not an expert so can't answer your question, but I'm sure one will be along shortly.

I had to have my credit check done prior to my most recent rental and was told it was down to my future landlord whether or not I could have the flat. I don't think they are that bothered as long as they get their rent and your references have come back ok.

Hi
You have done the right thing by being upfront with the agency.

interested to know the outcome as my letting agent uses homelet and about 8 months ago we failed - however we hope to be in a position to try and get through this again in the next six months to stop us from having to pay six months in advance all of the time!

Let me know whether you pass or fail!
