i am currently in approx 50k worth of debt, 15k being with a family member and work for a financial high street organisation and feel if i take out an iva or debt help i'll get sack as majority of borrowing is with them

I can only suggest that you review your terms of employment in your contract at the moment. There is no definitive list of job specs that list employees who may be unsuitable for their role if they become insolvent. It can very much be down to the individual employer themselves
Are you handling money on a day to day basis or do you have control over accounts? If so then there is a possibility of an employer taking a view.

i do work on a till but mainly look after controls and making sure we follow procedures, according to info i've found from work they do a yearly scan on your credit file will an iva appear on it.

Cybus is right - you must check your contract and see what it says about debt.

yes the iva will be on your credit file for 6 years from the start of it[:I]

An IVA will appear on a credit reference check, yes.
