Hi, I'm somewhat new to this forum but I was browsing the forum and found a discussion about having a 'swapshop' and wondered if anything ever came of it? I have two children and as we all know they just won't stop growing! I realise that not everything is suitable to 'swap' but so many things are - imagine how much we could all save on things that the children have outgrown like wellington boots, books, winter coats, nearly new clothes and even bicycles! And for us adults ... what about books and DVDs to keep us entertained on our 'reduced' entertainment budgets(I certainly never watch most of them more than a couple of times)? Maybe I'm just being a little too idealistic but everyone on this forum seems to give each other so much support, maybe that support could be extended to practical items.

I have a 24" TV (with a faulty Scart Socket), a DVD Player (in excellent condition) and 2 PC base units if anyone is interested. would love to swap them for DC and Marvel comics as I'm a big kid and love me superhero comics.[:D][:D]

Hi All

Try this link, we use the freecycle network and it is brilliant. It is a community in itself. www.freecycle.org/groups/unitedkingdom

I hope it helps you.

regards

Thanks John, looks interesting. I've always carted all the stuff the kids have outgrown to Oxfam but someone at the other end is still having to pay money for something that is no longer of any use to me.

Right now, every little helps!

Hi

I asked about this before last christmas when I had something I wanted to donate, I went through him but it would be quite difficult to sort out. Unless there is a section on the forum for free to collectors or something.....I guess if a list could be complied and the reciever put up the postage.... it might be possible.... I dont know.
