i just been speaking to a guy from egg, i rung him. an he hung up on me!!!!
i just sent this email to egg
i rang you a couple of weeks ago to let you know i am in financial difficulty and was looking into an iva. since then you have continued to ring me but left no messages. yesterday you contnually rang my workplace and i was not there until the night shift. when i finally spoke to this lady called lisa she was rude, and did not ask me any securtity questions before continuing to discuss my problems, this is not the 1st time this has happened. i explained i cannot talk but would ring agian in the morning. this i have just done and talked to somebody called cameron, i explained everything agian and have requested that you stop harrassing me especially at work he ended up putting the phone down on me, how professional is that.l will not be back at work for another 19 days, i do shift work. i am now asking you to stop ringing my works number or continually harrassing me as there are laws against this. you will hear from my i/p in due course. in the meantime will you please send me an upto date statement for both my egg and egg money card.
regards
they make my blood boil
when i have already contacted them to explain the situation

I had the same problem with one of my creditors, somehow they managed to ring the LAS ( london ambulance service ) phone in the A&E dept, it's supposed to be used only by them to ring through life threatening emergencies they are bringing in on a blue call, imagine my horror when i get a rollocking from the consultant who took a call, as they were asking for me. They rang 5 times on a different phone aswell. I went nuts, told them they were haraasing me and causing an offense, not to mention putting patients lives at risk, they shut up and apologised profusely.

These people just don't care, all they are interested in is earning their commission from bullying people into paying what they can't afford.
I am so glad that I never gave my works number to any of my creditors. They had my mobile, but I took out a new contract so they couldn't contact me on that.
It's about time they listened sympathetically to those of us with problems. It's bad now, and it can only get worse.

My I/P continues to ring my works switchboard number despite being asked not to (my employers are a bit cranky about personal calls) and despite having my mobile number. They have also been rude to the switchborad girlie because she is only doing her job ie-"can i ask whos calling please" ,answer- "no you may not!!! ".[:(!]
what are these people on ? rude pills?

My IP does not have my works number either. He can contact me either via home or email.
I am very fussy as to who has my phone numbers.

I never give my mobile out to anyone apart from friends and family.
Creditors never had that no., and my IP only has my home no and e-mail.
Sometimes we have to have a break from it all - and so to be out somewhere and get a phonecall on your mobile would be a no-no!!!

This is how you deal with EGG,they are very good in dealing with indebted customers. They have a Debt Managment section - ask for them. You'll be put through to someone calling themselves a lending specialist ,they are the ones looking at Debts and Insolvency etc.Go DIRECT! You may want to made a token payment and that will silence the phone calls. Say you are doing an IVA.....they wouldn't talk you out of it but will talk to you and appreciate the infomation.

I think we all have to remember these people are only doing their job, and do it how they are told, I am a sales manager for a global company and one of my responsibilties is chasing payment even when i know they have cash flow problems, but it is one of my responsibilties as a job.
I agree they should not chase you at work, unless this is the only way they can get hold of you because you ignore their letters or phone calls at home

I'm suprised at Egg they were one of my more understanding creditors. Have a look at this thread. It's a bit long but worth a read

With regards to creditor calls. I can't stress the importance of logging each call you make and receive. Keep a notepad. When you are called, after their security questions, ask them for a name, company, contact number. Take your time to write the information down it gives you time to think and compose yourself. Then ask them what the call is about
