by mon/tues i will have a bank account no fancy stuff on it just a bog standard bank account that i can pay dd and standing orders from.

yesterday after seeing the natwest who i am NOT in arrears with i thought whats the point, now i feel my up beat and positive about going to court tomorrow all thanks to not been judged and looked down upon.

I love the co-op as well. They seem to be a good company as well with requards to the business they lend money to.

without a paddle

I had the same problem with Lloyds, I got an account no problem, I asked for a basic. Then when I got my date for BR (which I didnt go through with) I asked them if they would close it? I dont know, the woman said, and she balled at the top of her voice to someone else. I could have died, its a small town, he said yes, we would have to close it, I think. Then about six months later I was fed up with the cashcard, only being able to withdraw from LLoyds machines. I went in and asked for a basic debit card, I had been using the account and was OK with everything. They made me feel like a peice of stuff on your shoe. Oh, we cant do that, we cant let you get overdrawn... So I walked into the Co op such a different attitude, even asked if I wanted a cuppa.

I almost cried in Lloyds but the co-op, I felt human again.

Hi
The Co-operative Bank are very ethical and this seems to extend to people with debts
Three cheers for the Co-op

I've found the Co-op to be really good as well - the customer service is excellent, even if they won't give me a savings account!

My friend's partner banks with the Co-op and he had a credit card with them. He applied for a loan, and they told him that yes he could have the loan, but they would have to consolidate the card with the loan and close the card. The reason for this is that they will only lend a certain amount of money and weren't prepared to let him go over that. That's what I call responsible banking. Natwest gave me a £25k loan and 2 credit cards!

Lloydstsb did the same with the wife and I.£15k limit on my card £10,500 on hers and a £25k loan, they then offered us another loan to pay off the cards as we only appeared to be managing to pay the minimum amounnt and it would have taken us 38 years to pay it off!!!That was the day I crossed over the road and went into the local Citizens advice and sat for 90 minutes waiting to blurt out my debt hell to 2 very understanding ladies. Not responsible lending at all IMO!!!

Good luck for today and how nice to read recently of all the posttive feedback for the coop, maybe we could tell them too as sometimes it's nice for us to know but they may appreciate a letter to head office from a group of people who do appreciate them.
