I have been in a failed IVA and today decided to go for a second IVA. I rang Bainst and Earnst??? Who I think use Blair Enderby, I spoke to someone at length who having took my income decided I could afford to pay around 235.00 per month on debts of approx 28k. I have to make 62 payments , 2 upfront over 2 months and if the IVA fails then I will go into a debt management programme as I don't want to go bankrupt. I can't seem to find any feedback on this IVA providor and wanted some advice on the 2 upfront payments , I am starting to get some hassle off creditors now and am very stressed!!!

Would be particularly keen on what the experts think both to the upfront fees and the liklihood of sucsess with a 2nd time round IVA.

Many Thanks

Melanie Giles on here is very good and I believe she does not charge an upfront fee,

We are with a local IP and did not pay an upfront fee. As others have found you need a contingency fund for emergancies that will happen at some stage and if you pay 2 months upfront fees before your IVA starts your possibility of having that fund is very slim.

There is an IVA comparisson site that gives reviews which could help, I am sure someone will post the link for you.

Good luck,

Kirsty

Hi Chris Z

I am with Blair Endersby for my IVA. I started mine in October 2006 and at that time I did not have to make any up front payments. The only money I had to give B&E was my first month's IVA payment and they had to have this just prior to the creditors' meeting to prove to the creditors that I could pay it. I think their policy must have changed since then because a couple of posters have said that they were required to make two up front payments with B&E. They are okay when you first start with them but I have found them to be quite rude and aggressive once they have their hooks into. My personal opinion? Find someone else to represent you. Maybe Melanie Giles? If I had my time again, I would definitely ask Melanie to be my IP. Hope this helps.

Hi Chris.z. I have recently started my IVA with Melanie and her team and I have found them second to none. I have paid no up front fees and up to now everything has been done by post, telephone and email. Have a read of Melanie's blog (click her link at the left hand side of this page) or on the experts link to find out more about her. You only have to read this forum for a short time before you will see that she comes very highly recommended, her success rate for approved IVA's in around 98% so I believe. Good luck in finding your IP. Regrds Kazzy x

Hi

Can i recommend clear debt there website is www.cleardebt.co.uk

My iva was approved in under 4 weeks, I called a company before going with them who also wanted 2 extra payments

Very good service and information with NO up front fees

Ask for MIke Morgan if you do contact them....he is great and will lay out the options to you in full.

Good Luck!

Yes Neil, it was just set up to hastily and I was so desperate to get out of debt that i took the first offer. I couldn't afford the payments so just stopped paying and it then took 12 months for it to be failed before I could do anything else.

Getting chased and harrassed now though none of my creditors have filed for Bankruptcy which isn't what I want anyway.

Thanks for your responses - They actually told me that Blair Endersby is the biggest IVA providor??

Any experts think the figures of 235.00 look sensible on 28k ish of debt???

Many thanks again

Chris

Hi Chris.z

What they say and what you get are two different things Banks know there onions, for me i would look at my age, income and if i'm married.

Keep your head very calm and talk to people like iva.co.uk your debts are 28k how much will they be if you take out another IVA.

Regards.

Neil

Hi Chris. serious decision to make I suggest you spend some time here: www.iva.com. All these reviews are written by us. There are hundreds but it really is worth taking the time to read them. It's how I chose my IP and she managed to get my 25p/£ proposal accepted. Good luck with the second time round

I used Payplan and didn't have to pay anything upfront.
