Just been to the doctors - I have pulled the ligaments in my foot (ouch!), and so have been given some strong tablets.
Whilst i was there I got some stuff for my hayfever as it has been bad this year - well the total prescription came to £21!!!!
i tell you it should be pg ladies and people in IVA's that are excempt from paying!!!!
k.

Yes, prescriptions are expensive! I have to take five different tablets every day, so you can see how much mine would have been! I have a pre payment certificate which costs just over £100 per year and more than pays for itself. Obviously no good for just the odd item or two though!

Ouch K - living in Wales we don't have to pay for prescriptions and not before time I say. Afterall the NI we've paid in prescriptions should be free - I believe the english politicians rejected this??

Obviously it means not so much money goes into the NHS but surely this means the government should plough some of the taxes etc. back into our systems??

Sorry I've gone right off one eh - hope your foots not too painful. x

Government paying us taxes back and giving us something for free?????????

That I would like to see - might even vote Labour again if that happened!

Without going all political this kind of thing will continually happen whilst the devolved parts of the country get the best of both worlds and allowed to vote on English laws from their non- english constituencies.

It's WELL out of order!

Doesn't help most of the cabinet are Scottish!

BTW that's not meant as an insult to the Scottish people, just the government!

That's the exact reason we won't get a devolved "England"

Everyone forgets Blair was scottish too...

I think you will find the only reason Scotland and Wales get Free Prescriptions and also free NHS Car Parking at Hospitals is because my English taxes pay for it. Damn unfair!!!!

Glad you agree!!! Not being funny and I do not want to go to political but surely if these seperate states want to be seperate and have there own government then it should be paid for with there countrymens taxes and not mine including benefits also!!!!!!

Its times like this that I'm glad I'm diabetic. I get free prescriptions and as I have about 8 scripts a month it's a god send

Hi all i am like you susie though not diabetic but hypothryoid and get mine free also. Would cost a fortune. Remember that you can by a prepaid prescription over the counter for three months at a time . I got one for hubby £26 something but as he has three every 2 months it saves quite a bit. Three prscriptions alone are £21.30 so as long as he gets another inthe three months we save about £20.

Hi,
Sorry to hear about your foot, I hope it's not too painful and the tablets are helping. I have a pre-paid presecrption card and was given an allowance in my I & E to cover the cost. It works for me as I take about 5 tablets (latest ones being my happy pills & HRT!!) so I save a fortune with it.
Hope you all recovered soon,
Cx
