Hi sjw,
Just bumping this back up.
I don't think they should be contacting you now, but even so, there is nothing they can do about the money.
Try telling them that you will report them for harrassment.
You could always try changing your phone number as well.
Hopefully, someone who knows more about br will pick this up.

They should not be ringing you several times a day, youre free of this debt now. Next time they phone, get a name and report them. Ask them if they are aware of the harrassment laws? It would be illegal for you to make a payment on this debt, dont they know that?
I know it takes time for these things to filter down to the call centres but Months? Its taking the piss, its 2008 and communication has never been easier.
Good luck, I hope youre free from this soon Sjw

Ask to speak to a supervisor and tell them to check the Insolvency Register whilst you are on the phone.
Tell them this is harrassment, and, as such, illegal.
If this doesn't work, then you could always right to Head Office outlining your complaints and see if that puts a stop to it.

Contact your OR and tell them about this. We are still receiving demands for our debt and we filed br on 13th Feb this year. When I contacted our OR I was told to send anything to them and they would deal with it, it'll be the same for phone calls.
I thought that all contact with our creditors would stop when we filed, but I swear they are just trying to get something out of us.....

i know its like they think that if they keep on we'll give in a pay them something , which were not. i did contact the or last week and they basicaly said let them carry on because they are not going to get any money, i know i should just let it go over my head but i feels like the eary days when i used to dread answering the phone.x

It must be a nightmare, ok, you know there is nothing they can do, but your nerves must be on edge every time the phone rings.

That's not very good advice from your OR. They are there to deal with creditors, that's what their fees are for! Would it be possible to change your number?
The hubby was on the phone the other day to one of his creditors and they asked him for his mobile, he didn't know it, so they asked for the landline, he nearly gave it aswell until I stopped him....don't want anyone I don't know pwersonally having our house number......

sjw, every time I have to talk to a creditor I get a sickly feeling in my tummy and I go all hot and nervous. I'm sure you're the same and you should not have to go through this day after day, I can't even imagine how you're dealing, especially as you had to go through the BR itself. I don't know what else to suggest other than everything that everyone has mentioned. [:(] X

Yes I know Jan, it's a bleeding shame we should have to change our number but if it stops the calls from the vultures....[^]

We'd used that 'Choose to refuse', but trouble is, they don't always phone from the same number, and you can only block 10 numbers.
They wouldn't let us change this time as we had done so some years before because of nuisance calls. I think it would have cost us as well.
As it was, I had to pay £35 to change my mobile number!
