I've only posted on here a handful of times over the course of my iva, but I wanted to thank people for their help whenever I did. You were amazing! :)

There were times when I've been close to tears and coming on here and reading other people's stories has helped enormously.

If I had anything I would like to tell the five years ago me, it would be this:

-Really consider all options. I was so concerned about being "bankrupt" and having to go to court that I didn't truly consider bankruptcy as an option. But on reflection it's probably what I should have taken.
-There will come a day when it is all behind you, you can make it. :)

The iva people I was with were GT and overall they have been good with me. There's been the odd occasion when they haven't answered my emails as quickly as I would have liked, but I found that was individuals, not everyone there. The variations team in particular are a dream - extremely helpful and fair. And most of the customer services people are great too.

For anyone who is still in an iva or about to start to a new iva - I wish you the very best. It may get tough, you may think it will never end, but it will. Now I'm out the other end, it's gone much faster than I ever imagined.

Best of luck everyone. :)

Congrats Susan.w, my experience with GT were pretty much the same as your's. No issues and I found the people I spoke to (when I needed advice) were polite and helpful. Good luck in your debt free future.

Congratulations and like you in hindsight I would have opted for bankruptcy in favour of the IVA but the newspaper publication put me off and now I don't believe they do that any longer.
