hi all,

I haven't posted for a very long time but this time next month it should be my final payment in what has been a very long 6 years in the IVA.

There have been many many negatives that I have faced during that time period and for several years before that when where I got myself into horrendous levels of debt.

But during the last 6 years I have seen a complete transformation within myself as to how I view money, credit, family life, career wise and when you strip things back what is truly important.

It's so true what people say that when you face a difficult and in this case life changing situation head-on you will learn so much about yourself that you didn't know and often find new levels deep inside yourself things you never thought you could do and in my case find a determination to never give up.

Although I have a PPI investigation going on at the moment and the IVA won't officially end until this has completed (received replies from all stakeholders) I am looking forward to the official time frame of payments coming to an end early next month (My plan was extended by 12 months due to lack of Equity in house).

This of course sounds very cliche and maybe to some like I am boasting but I truly just wanted to convey to anyone who is going through tough times that there is a light at the end of the tunnel but the only thing is when you come out the other side you will most likely be never the same of course this will be for the better :)

thanks guys.

I am blown away with the response to this to be honest. I think the penny won't truly drop until I have that certificate in my hand.

When that happens I will have a little celebration for one :) Only my wife is aware of the road we have travelled.

Just a quick update on where things stand.

I made the final monthly payment I believe is within the IVA agreement. I noticed however that although I was in agreement to make 72 (5 years plus the extended 12 months) I have actually made 74 since October 1st 2007.

I have sent an email to my IP to see what is happening as we are still awaiting status on where our PPI claims are.

I find this a bit strange that I have made more payments than what was agreed in my IVA. Hopefully get correspondence soon and it will be a case of me badgering every other day now.

Woo hoo it looks like I am receiving a refund on the over payments to the tune of 800 pounds or so. Looks like i will receive this in a few days and have been told to cancel my standing order.

Completion Certificate is also looking to be issued soon separately to the PPI claim.

Feeling like I have reached the summit of the mountain and can now see the view and it's sure is beautiful.
