Im so relieved my final iva payment of over 800 has left the bank today. Ive managed not to miss a payment throughout the last 5 years and basically have gone without.
I got a very good pay rise just at the same time I decided to sort my debts out and this has helped me repay 80p in £ 1. Debts were 49k and ive basically repaid 49k which after fees of approx 10k gives my creditors 80 back. Its not been an easy road and these last 9 months have dragged and really stressed me re ppi but ive been told after my variation meeting recently the cc should be very quick...possibly weeks ao watch this space.
Its wierd i can now start to plan my future and to look forward to celebrating the promotion I got all those years ago. After repay 49k in 5 years anything is possible. Next step cancel the standing order.
Feel quite humble today. Its a strange feeling.

Excellent news Claire. Well done on finishing your IVA. I know what you mean about it being a strange feeling, it's a bit like the adrenalin has suddenly gone and you feel a little stunned, in limbo almost. Take your time to get used to it and enjoy having the spare cash that you have done without for so long. It's just a case now of waiting for the cc, but you can sit back, relax and look forward and plan your debt free future - that's the most important and satisfying thing: 'debt free.....' How good does that sound?

Well done Claire, our IVA last payment left the bank 13 months ago and like you we felt like a mill stone had been lifted of our shoulders. This was quickly replaced by our IP investigating PPI. So i'm now just starting our eighth year with still no CC in sight. I personally think their is something very wrong here. once the sixth year, maximum you can be on an IVA has passed. If your IP has not investigated your PPI within this time then they have missed the boat. So our IVA grinds inexorably on and on.

Hi all thanks for your comments.
Bryn..yes I do feel stunned. I suppose it will start to sink in next month when the payment doesnt go out.
Gledhill so sorry to hear your story. I cant imagine the position you are in. My ppi inveatigations have now been ongoing for 2 years from when I first had the letter. Suppose I can count myself lucky they got involved at year 3.
I do believe the iva was the right route for me because otherwise id never be debt free and looking forward to the future.
