It's been absolutely ages since I've posted on here, but felt I had to today as this morning I got the wonderful call from one of Mel's team at the IVA Bureau that my F&F has been accepted - I'm just over 3 years into my 5 year (possibly 6 year) IVA.

I was made redundant at the end of January with a fairly generous pay off, and have been scrimping since then. The report with the proposed variation did look enticing to me so whilst I was always nervous about the outcome, I was at the same time extremely hopeful.

So, now debt-free and I'm hopeful of securing a new position soon. This experience has taught me a lot about looking after your finances.

My thanks go without saying for what has been firm but helpful advice along the way from Mel and her team, and I cannot recommend the experience enough for those who find themselves in a similar situation. Thanks Mel!

Best wishes to all - this forum was a godsend in the early days of my IVA.

P.S. Whilst on my IVA I lost 11 stone (of 30) in weight, perhaps not the principal reason for an IVA but a wonderful side benefit nonetheless!

I was so pleased to hear the news this morning, as I know how much it means to you to be able to get on with your lives. I am so impressed with the weight-loss as well - you will have to e-mail me your methods, as it is time for the annual Giles post-holiday diet to commence!
