Hi Folks

I havent posted on here for quite a few months now, but finally found out today that after 5 years my IVA is finally over, and concluded!![:D]

It has been a long road, with a few twists and turns on the way but I finally got there!!!

I would like to say many thanks to Melanie Giles, and Andy Davie especially, who gave me so much good advice and help when I started on my journey 5 years ago!

My life has improved a lot over the last 5 years, I have clawed my way back from an impossible situation where I had debts of over £100k and the future looked bleak. I firmly believe we go through good and bad patches in our lives.

I have learned to respect money a lot more now, and in future I dont plan to have any credit cards, or cars on the never never....

I wish you all the best of luck with your debt repayment plans [:)]

I think I'll have to do the extra 12 months though which is a pain but better than a remortgage!

Thank you for your kind words.

Keep posting - I am sure that you will still have something to offer to posters on here.

I know I'll do the sixth year but I'm resigned to it!

So glad you have finished - I love it when a plan comes together!

Congratulations jpj nad enjoy your debt free future!

Mel, I know what you mean about time flying past - it's over 4 years since I went BR now, and nearly a year since my last IPA payment!

That's great news - I am only at the start but its so good to see people coming out the other side!
I hope the next 5 years fly past and I actually wish I'd approached and IVA sooner.
Good Luck for the future.

Thanks for your kind words

I would be interested to know what people generally do in the next few years after their IVA (not sure if theres actually data collected)
Do people slowly build up credit again, generally build up no credit, or gradually go back to the mad levels they had before??
