Hi to all, i have just joined and not had a chance to search through the many pages yet so forgive me if this is a well trodden path.
I have over £25,000 of debt to various card companies and am currently struggling to pay the minimum amounts each month...nothing is going to change in the near future so i have to get my head out of the sand and tackle this problem...i have read up on IVA's online but there is nothing like someone who has experienced it to get good advice.
What do you think my first step should be and can you recomend any decent compannies to act for me..........

thanks in advance

Hi and welcome to the forum. You are amongst friends here.

You need to speak to a professional. We have several companies that post on here who come highly recommended. You can find them under the experts link on the left hand side of the page. Otherwise visit www.iva.com for a list of companies and reviews. Give one or two a ring and you will receive free and impartial advice.

Hi Marco and welcome from me too.
As Jan says contact any of the firms from this site as you will get free advice and pointed in the right direction. You can contact more than one to put your mind at ease but any IP firm should be able to advise you as the best option. Good luck,

Hi and welcome from myself too. Great links above and each IP will talk through your situation and advise on debt solutions tailored to you. Always take the advise of 2 or 3 IP's and make sure they're contactable after the initial chat, 60 months is a long journey together and you need to be happy with your chosen IP to make this a successful partnership.

All the best.

You will find great friends on this forum who have been down the road you are about to be heading down, and as you say they will probably represent the best form of advice for you - athough professonal advice is also essential to fully understand all of the options currently available to you.
