Just had a telephone call - very polite I have to say (this time) asked what was happening - I told them Melanie has arranged for a creditors meeting on 5th May - they did not know that - at least that is what was said. I was "advised" that they could obtain a charging order without going to Court for a CCJ. That shook me a little since they said I could lose the house as a result. Can they do this that quickly or was it an implied threat to get me to pay something? Can anyone advise me please?

It is a threat and they will not have the time to place a charging order before your IVA meeting. At that time they will be bound by your IVA acceptance and can't do take any further action.

Many thanks - creditor trouble is the last thing we want at present as my wif's mother is in Intensive Care in hospital at present.

How owuld a CCJ affect the IVA anyway? If they have been informed of the creditors meeting and persue a CCJ wouldn't they be damaging the process?

Don't worry about it at all - they cannot get a CCJ between now and next Tuesday - it's just bullying tactics again.

Get Max to screech down the phone to them if they call again!

This is standard procedure for Amex - who do like charging orders where they feel that there is equity to go after. I would not worry about the call at all - we are nearly at the creditors meeting point after all.
