I really can't believe that I've only got 28 days to go until my automatic discharge date! I thought the year would drag, but it's actually flown past!
It's not pleasant being 'a bankrupt', but once I realised that there was no cartoon finger pointing at me with a bubble over it saying 'she's bankrupt' it wasn't as bad as I expected.
Good luck to anyone just starting down the IVA, BR or DMP path!

Hi Skippy
Not long now
You have become so knowledgable about bankruptcy over the year and can offer real life experience alongside this vast knowledge to help and assist other people facing bankruptcy.
Well done
Regards

Thanks guys, you're making me blush! [:I]
You won't be getting rid of me once I'm discharged - I'd miss you all too much!
Pete, not sure what I'm going to do yet, I need to be discharged for 3 years apparently before I can apply, by which time I'll be 36 - probably a bit old!

It's amazing where the time goes isn't it. I cannot believe either that the year is almost up for you. You really should set up one of those countdown posts Skip (the link is in one of the other postings) then we can all join in the countdown ... and I shall have a bottle of virtual champagne on ice for you for when the moment comes [:)]
It's been lovely to see you develop over this period of time, you have become so wise and knowlegable and only too ready to share your experiences and wisdom with others.
I am sure that you would like us to say a "hip hurrah" for "Mr Skippy" as I know that you consider him to have been a real support to you over this last year.
I look forward to your continued postings.

I really couldn't have got through it (emotionally or financially!) without Dave - he's put up with a lot over the last few years as I've tried to get everything sorted out but he's been great. I did actually ask him to marry me on 29th February, but he's told me to ask him again in 4 years time - better than the straight no I got in 2000 and 2004 I suppose!

Won't be long Skippy, your posts are always useful and informative. We'll be looking out for Dave's answer on 29th Feb 2012, my IVA will almost be finished!

Well ... I asked seven people to marry me on Friday. Three declined very flattered saying they were married (well I'm not going to ask anyone who's single am I ... they might say yes!) ... one hid in the Garden Of Remembrance (it will be interesting to see whether he has come out of hiding tomorrow!)... One said he wasn't interested in the married bit (because he already was)but he didn't mind thinking about doing some of the other bits that came with marriage - this being the guy who witnessed my signature on my re-mortgage application for me and signed it in the wrong place, signed in the bit for joint applicants ... so I asked him if he didn't mind doing some of the money bits associated with marriage, like paying half my monthly mortgage repayments! One said "ummmmm" and didn't commit himself to an answer - which is a bit worrying because he is single! And one who hasn't replied yet, but is a coach driver so is likely out of the country at the moment. [:D]
Well I had to make the most of this year as by the next leap year I shall be four years older!
Lots of love to Dave Skip ...
Debbie
