Hi guys
last night rob told his father that he was going to go bankrupt as that is what he has been advised to do. His father was shocked but in the end supportive and last night i was able to sleep better than I have in a long time. Today I am phoning the company who are helping to fill in the forms so then the ball will be rolling. I am not going bankrupt myself but do have a little debt but can afford to pay mine back, it has been suggested that i do it as well but we both feel that we want to at least pay some of the debt back.
I have explained to my older children (14 and 10) that things are tight and they have been very good to, thankfully they enjoy the simple things in life such as camping holidays, games and family stuff.
Thanks again to all your advise and I will keep you posted as to what happens. The bit I am dreading is the phone calls but i guess thats just par for the course.

good luck from me too Jayob, first hurdle down you'll soon be in view of the finishing line. I can imagine it's a relief to tell someone, but I've chosen not too although somedays making up excuses as to why I can't afford to do this and that is not easy. However, my boiler is a perfect excuse for now!

Good luck, the hardest bit is over now. If the phone calls get out of hand, then don't take them x

Hi Jayne and Rob

Well done for taking the first steps, telling Robs father cannot have been easy but it must have helped you both to be able to talk about it with someone.

Good luck and I hope things go smoothly for you
