I have been offered a new job which states I could be dismissed if I go into an agreement with creditors. What is the best way to approach this with my potential new boss as I have had an IVA for 3 years

You need to be upfront and pretty blunt at the outset. Simply say that you are grateful for the offer but have to inform them that you are in an IVA and would be obliged if they could confirm whether the offer will stand or be withdrawn --- get the response in writing and keep a copy.

Thanks I emailed and they said they’d get back to me by tomorrow to confirm. Fingers crossed it’s annoying as I could have stacks of out of control debt and I’d not need to say a word.

I know ! Always annoys me that those of us who have recognised the problem and are dealing with it responsibly get penalised against those who are just keeping their heads above water ..... for now !
