Lloyds current account

What a start I’ve had…… IVA started May this year, surgery to remove brain tumour June this year, in critical care for a week with seizures following surgery but slowly getting there. My emotions are all over the place. The question I have is I removed my name from my joint current account before the IVA as I had debt with Lloyds which was included in my IVA so the current account is now just in my husbands name. I’ve received a letter to say Lloyds has sold my debt which is fine. Do you think it is safe to now add my name back onto the current account as all our bills are paid from this account and it’s just easier for me.

If you add you name back ( which Lloyds may refuse anyway due to your IVA ) your IVA might then affect your husbands credit worthiness, as you will have a financial association.

We would already have a financial association as we have our joint mortgage and another joint account which I opened before the IVA when I removed my name from Lloyds

Fair enough. As long as Lloyds say "yes" there should be no issue, although any overdraft facility, if one exists, would probably have to be removed.

I was more worried if I added my name back on if they agreed to this that there could be a danger of them freezing the account with me having debt with them that was included in the IVA, even though they sold this debt. Don’t know if I’m over thinking but read some bad reports about Lloyds

I think, if they were going to do that, they would simply refuse to have you back on the account. But, yes, Lloyds can be a little unpredictable !
