My iva started in May 2018 and I'm not a homeowner so if my calculation are correct it would end in May 2023.

So would my last payment be in May and then I cancel the standing order or do I wait until the certificate is issued?

Your last payment should be in the May but clarify it with your IP nearer the date.

The closure process, for the issue of the completion certificate, commences after that final payment has been made.
