Had a phone call today from a gentleman claiming to be from Aperture who took over Grant Thornton who I had my IVA with.
Saying I had residual funds on my account from interest from various PPI claims that their appointed claims / search team had recovered.

Looking on this forum it looks like Aperture went insolvent and ceased trading. While others say they were sold to Jarvis & Jarvis.
When look on the apertureiva website that takes me to a website called debtmovement.

So is this a legitimate company or a new style of plishing?

Aperture are basically Grant Thornton rebranded --- they are a genuine company. However, they recently transferred their active caseload to Jarvis ( who have rebranded as Debt Movement). They still have a Trusts Department dealing with legacy issues and PPI relating to older cases. Their email is IVATrusts@aperture.uk.com

They emailed me saying that they had been trying to contact me.

Been told I need to authorize them to release the monies owed. So have asked them to send me the paper work and they don't know what I mean. Plus they advised if I wanted to change my address I could do it via email which was strange as I had not asked anything about doing that.

Not sure why they cannot just send a cheque out to me as on their website they claim to do that within 10 days of receiving the money.

They need to make sure that you are who you say you are, I guess --- can't be issuing money to anybody ! They are thinking 'change of address' because you haven't received, or answered, previous post, maybe (they say that they have been trying to contact you --- by post maybe?).

From other post in recent months they are on a program of re-uniting past clients with PPI / excess funds / interest refunds.

I had to confirm who I was when they phoned me up.
The only post I have in the past couple of years was from First Dispute Management who said they got my details from Aperture and that I had been missold my IVA.
According to the person I spoke to at Aperture they have never dealt with First Dispute Management.

I am pretty sure that FDM are the firm Aperture routinely used to chase PPI --- either the person you spoke to was confused, or simply new to the post and unaware of past processes.

Correct - FDM were routinely instructed by Aperture to investigate PPI claims

Well been over 3 weeks since gave them bank details to pay the sum they say I am owed.
Hopefully be paid into the account by next week as they said can take up to 28 days for the funds to be paid out.
Mind you they did not say if was calendar days or working days.

Plus the letter I received the other year from FDM said I had been miss-sold my IVA not PPI

Well no funds been transferred to my bank yet.

Tried to phone up but their phone system currently not working.

Their phone system still down with "Technical Problems" and the divert to voice mail is just hang up so you cannot even leave a message.
Not had a reply to email I sent last week.

So think will wait until beginning of next week then if no funds been transferred into my bank account. Will contact my bank to get change my account changed.

Aperture no longer have a working phone line, what number have you been trying to call?

Well took over two months but finally received money into my bank account. So much for be up to 28 days for the money to be transferred into your account that they told me in March.
Then the fun of trying to contact them to get an update as never had a response to emails I sent and gave up trying to phone due their phone system having a technical problem.

I had thought would never see the money. Glad I thought wrong on this occasion
