Hi guys.....The end in one sight I’m in my final 11 months of my Iva due to finish nic 2020....wow I’m so excited.

What I want to know is what happens at the end. Can we now apply for a mortgage?

Will we still be frowned Upon because of the IVA?

We live in a council house and will not need a deposit to buy it but I have no idea what my credit status will be at the end of all this.

I’m just happy to finally be debt free after getting myself in a rut being a very young single mum. A lot has changed since my iva and I’m now in a much better position financially. )all reported and accounted for with the iva.

I’m just so excited about the prospects ahead but not sure what actually happens at the end

Well done on getting close to the end -- not long now !

Your credit rating will be pretty much down the toilet until 6 years from the start of the IVA, when it will suddenly clear up, assuming all defaults etc have been dealt with correctly. Have a read here as well as the last few entries in my blog ( link to that in my signature block below this post) : https://www.iva.co.uk/what-does-an-iva- ... dit-record

Nearer the time I would suggest a chat with Ryan and / or Shaun. They are both whole of market brokers with experience in adverse credit applications who have assisted many forum members. Their contact details cane be found here:

Shaun: memberlist.php?mode=viewprofile&u=22837

Don't get disheartened by slight delays -- better to get it all right first. It will happen.
