Too late to complain?

Hi

My story is a weird one, in 2009 I took out an IVA with a practitioner who turned out to be a wrong 'un. He diverted my payments (and other peoples) to his own bank account instead of to my creditors. He then did an overnight flit. His company no longer exists. My IVA was subsequently passed to Grant Thornton who made a real hash of things, writing to me at the wrong address, threatening to fail the IVA etc. Very (very) long story short the IVA lasted twice the amount of time it was supposed to (and therefore had a bigger impact on me). I eventually made a full and final because I just wanted it dealt with. My credit score is now fine etc, so all good. However, I can help but feeling I was a bit of a victim in this case, and that was never recognised and I wondered if there's a route for me to seek compensation? I know you can complain about an IVA practitioner....but if that person has since been struck off/has vanished, then what??

Perhaps it's best to leave it alone, but it had twice the impact on my life that it should have had and caused a huge amount of stress.

I would say that you might have grounds for a complaint against the named IP at GT, now Aperture, who took over your case, as they were supposed to sort out the mess, not compound it ! However, this would only lead to a slapped wrist from their regulatory body, or, possibly, a fine --- you will get no redress. Maybe a chat with a solicitor might prove fruitful.
