Have been reading a lot of the recent posts with interest especially around PPI and the possibility of them splitting/rebranding.

I take a very cynical view - the push on PPI is linked to them splitting/rebranding and they need the money to allow it to happen.

If you are a current, new or old client of Aperture you should be making a subject access request now.

3 reasons:

1. By asking for a copy of your information now, you get a copy of your information that allows you to take some control should you be transferred elsewhere (and any IVA company should tell you in advance if you are being "moved on" rather than you finding out the hard way).

2. Ask specifically who they have shared information about you with and why. They should be able to provide a full list and that gives you a chance to understand who might be contacting you in future.

3. Aperture specifically appointed these companies that are now contacting you. They have the responsibility for dealing with your requests and concerns, and you need them to confirm directly that they know who they have appointed.

The request can be made by email and I reckon that if 20-30 of you were to do this at this point, it would almost cause Aperture to grind to a halt.

Hi with only being in my iva for 3months now could u please explain what is a subject access request? Also would I be best doing this or is this for people nearing the end of their iva?

In a nutshell it is a request, made by the person the request is about, for a copy of all the information a company holds about you. It will let you know who they might have shared details with and where they have been snooping for information other than that which you gave them.
