My last payment was in December, and for various delays the creditors meeting on 12 Feb this year. I have been told by Aperture the certificate could take up to 6months, I have asked for the very specific reasons for this, waiting for a reply. Aperture have been excellent up to now, fantastic help (I began with Grant Thornton then Aperture took over, and it was a seamless process, and they have been very helpful and constant reassuring.

Unfortunately it's a standard term in most IVA proposals to allow 6 months for the closure administration work.

It shouldn't take that long in practice but no complaint will be upheld within the first 6 months.

Keep the pressure on them to close it.

Aperture and Grant Thornton before them (same firm, but re-branded IVA department) have always been and remain the slowest with completions, routinely taking the full 6 months ( and sometimes longer) to do what other firms manage in a few weeks. This is partly down to their "compartmentalised" working practices, their general under resourcing and workload.

My IVA should have finished in November 2018 but I thought I would have to pay an extra 12 months due to not being able to release equity. Aperture seemed to take forever and informed me in December they were passing my case to Select Partnership.

Select Partnership are fantastic and did find me a secured loan, it is for £3723 as the repayments can only be half of what you pay to the IVA and cannot run longer than your mortgage or retirement. The interest rates are high but they will contact you after a year to see how you are getting on and try and find another deal if that works for you. I am hoping to try and pay the loan off within a year and then look at trying to remortgage as currently my mortgage is behind due to the IVA.

Aperture seem to be passing everyone to Select Partnership and they will go through all your finance record to date as they have access to it.

Today i received an email from Aperture saying that I was now in the completion stage 😁.

Also, another tip, if you can't get through by phone or emails ignored, message them via their Facebook page, I did this and got a response.

Good to hear things have progressed and you have plans in place this year. Hopefully closure is not just around the corner x
