Hi I have read this forum daily as it has helped reading about other peoples IVA`s knowing i`m not the only one in one . It has been a godsend as I couldn`t talk to anyone except my wife about being in an IVA.
After 6 years my completion certificate has turned up from Payplan, only 8 weeks since my final payment which is great considering the 2 weeks delay for christmas.
I have to say that Payplan have been brilliant and always there to answer any questions i had .
I had a straightforward IVA, 72 payments all paid on time, starting at £220 a month and finishing in the last year (equity) with £355 i paid bacjk 50% of my 40k debt which I am quite proud of .
Big thanks to all the experts on here who I hope you realise what a godsend you all are answering questions at all times of the day .
To anyone starting or finishing an IVA i think you should be proud of yourselves for sorting your debt out stick with it and time will soon pass.
sorry for the ramble but the beers are in the fridge and I am finally having a big sigh of relief !

It's an eye opener . I think the best part of an iva is learning to live without credit and on a budget which I plan on doing from now on . I think people should use it as a learning curve for the future so this never happens again .

I agree -- 5 years + on and I am still living to my IVA budget, no credit ( although I do have a couple of cards --- I use them for big purchases for the added consumer protection --- and pay them off right away) and I still use my trusty spreadsheet to keep track !

I think I have turned into Martin Bryce !!
