Hi, my husband and I will finish paying our IVA in September 2019. We want to start thinking about how we will get back onto the property ladder once we are able to. Do you know if there are any help to buy schemes that we would be eligible for, or can you offer any advice on steps we should be thinking about for when the IVA is finished. Many thanks

Once your IVA has completed, make sure your credit files clear up --- have a read here: https://www.iva.co.uk/what-does-an-iva- ... dit-record

Nearer the time have a word with Ryan or Shaun -- whole of market brokers with experience of adverse credit applications:

We've certainly obtained mortgages for many Clients in similar situations under the Help to Buy scheme.

I completed my IVA end of 2016 with a full and final offer. But it didn't drop off my file until July when I hit the magic 6 years. Fast forward 1 month and we have exchanged on a dream home and are due to move in by the end of the month. The challenge for me was improving my credit score which I've been working on as since I completed my IVA.

You might find this quick video I made about cleaning up your credit record useful but you are a little early yet!:

Noddle and Clearscore are also free credit agencies to consider using:
